GSC offers two individual health and dental products:

GSC Health Assist ZONE®

ZONE plans could be suitable for the self-employed, small business owners, contract workers, freelancers or, anyone without group benefits.

GSC Health Assist LINK®

LINK plans could be appropriate for people whose employee benefits are ending due to retirement, career change, age, or job loss.

Choose the health and dental plan that may be right for you

GSC Health Assist ZONE® plans may be suitable for those who don’t have health or dental insurance, business owners, the self-employed, freelancers, and contract or part-time workers.

There are eight different plans that provide different benefits and levels of coverage. Some ZONE plans offer guaranteed acceptance while others require completion of a health questionnaire and medical underwriting.

  • You are a Canadian resident between 18 and 79 years of age

  • You have valid provincial health insurance (Quebec residents must also have RAMQ.)

Are you eligible to apply?

You can apply for a GSC Health Assist LINK® plan as long as you meet the three eligibility requirements:

  • You are between 18 and 79 years of age

  • You are a Canadian resident with valid provincial health insurance (Quebec residents must also have RAMQ.)

  • You apply within 90 days of your group health coverage end date.

LINK plans do not require any medical questions or health exams when you apply. They are also designed to provide coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. Your acceptance is guaranteed*.

How does GSC Health Assist LINK® work?


GSC needs to receive your LINK application along with your initial payment within 90 days of your group health benefit end date.

Your acceptance is guaranteed upon GSC's receipt of your initial payment. After your application has been approved, your LINK coverage continues for life, regardless of your age or any changes in your health (as long as your payments are made).

This is a summary and does not constitute a contract. Actual terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions are detailed in the contract issued by GSC upon application approval.

Reimbursement will be made for eligible expenses incurred, paid for and received by the covered person provided such services and supplies are, in the opinion of GSC, medically necessary for the treatment of an illness or injury and reasonable and customary, taking all factors into account.

For Quebec residents: To be eligible for LINK or ZONE prescription drug coverage, you must be covered by the RAMQ Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan (Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec). Your prescription drug claims must be submitted to RAMQ first. When RAMQ reimburses a portion of the drug cost, unpaid balances (including co-payments and deductibles) will be co-ordinated so that you may be reimbursed up to 100% of the eligible expense incurred. If the drug is not covered by RAMQ, the standard co-pay applies.
