Home Insurance Claims – Wind or Hail Damage
My house has been damaged by wind or hail. What now?
Strong winds or hail can damage a house in a matter of minutes. If this happens to your home, we can help you get through it and get things back to normal as soon as possible.
Protect yourself and your valuables
Your safety is always the first priority. If wind or hail has damaged your roof and you feel the house is not safe, leave and go somewhere safe, like a car or a neighbour’s house.
When your house is safe to enter:
- Take reasonable steps to protect your undamaged items by moving or covering them, if possible.
- Make sure your valuables and important documents are stored in a safe, dry place.
