Eligibility for the TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan

 

The TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan is open to customers who meet the following criteria:

  1. A Canadian citizen at the time of application2

  2. From age 18 to 54 on the Insured Person’s Effective Date

  3. Must never have been diagnosed with life threatening cancer, a heart attack or stroke, and

  4. Must never have been under investigation for, consulted for or had symptoms for having cancer, a heart attack or a stroke within the last 6 month prior to the effective date.


What’s not covered?

 

Here is an example of when an insurance benefit will not be paid

  • If you are diagnosed with, or you’re under investigation and it leads a diagnosis of life-threatening cancer, within 90 days of the effective date or the last reinstatement date

How much does the TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan cost?

 

Monthly premiums are based on your age, sex at birth, smoking status, and health at the time of your application.

4. Does Critical Illness Insurance cover accidents?

Our Critical Illness Recovery Plan covers only the critical illnesses specified in the policy documents and stated below:

  • life-threatening cancer,
  • heart attack or
  • Stroke.

5. Are there any exclusions to the coverage?

There are some situations where a benefit won't be paid, including but not limited to self-inflicted injuries, suicide, criminal activity, and the use of illegal drugs or substances.
