    Premiums start from $5.00 per month plus tax2, and TD will pay your first month’s premium.

    You can choose to enroll your spouse and dependent child or children, under the same plan1.

  • Automatic anniversary bonus

    Each year you keep your coverage, your Accidental Death Insurance coverage increases by 1% of the original coverage issued (up to $2,500).

    Coverage includes a daily hospital indemnity benefit, up to a total of $18,250.

    Your enrollment is guaranteed with no medical or health questions required so long as you are eligible to enroll.

  • 30-day review period

    You have 30 days from the date your insurance certificate is issued to review your certificate and if you choose to cancel it during this period, any premiums you may have paid will be refunded.

Eligibility for the TD Accidental Death Insurance Plan

 

Our TD Accidental Death Insurance Plan is exclusive to TD Customers who are Canadian residents4. Eligible parties include:

  1. Customers between the ages of 18 and 65

  2. Spouses between the ages of 18 and 65

  3. Dependent child or children1

What’s not covered?

 

Here are some examples of when an insurance benefit will not be paid:

  • Accidental death is a result of bodily or mental infirmity or disease of any kind.
  • Accidental death is a result of or while committing or attempting to commit a criminal offence.
  • Accidental death is caused directly or indirectly by the use of any drug, poisonous substance, intoxicant or narcotic, unless taken according to the instruction of your physician.

How much does the TD Accidental Death Insurance Plan cost?

Coverage starts at $5.00 per month (plus applicable taxes), as shown in the examples below2.

A death caused by a bodily injury that occurs solely as a direct result of a violent, sudden and unexpected action from an outside source to an Insured Person and which occurs within 365 days of that accident could qualify under the TD Accidental Death Insurance Plan.

2. Who can I put as my beneficiary?

As the policy owner, you can choose the beneficiary. If a beneficiary is not chosen, the benefit will be paid to your estate.

3. How much is the benefit paid on a covered accidental death for the TD Accidental Death Insurance Plan?

The amount your beneficiary(ies) could receive ranges from $50,000 to $250,000, based on the coverage you select.
