ATV Insurance – Yukon

Additional Coverage

In general, the various types of additional insurance coverage available for ATVs are the same across Canada.

Type of coverage Examples
All perils:

This coverage combines collision and comprehensive coverage.

It is the broadest coverage available as it covers all types of losses except for those specifically excluded.
  • A tree falls during a storm and damages your vehicle.
Collision or upset:

This coverage pays for damage to your vehicle caused by a collision with another object or by upset.
  • Your vehicle is damaged as a result of it flipping over on a trail.

This coverage pays for all other insured damage caused to your vehicle, except for collision or upset (e.g. fire, theft, vandalism).
  • High winds cause flying debris which damages your vehicle.
  • Vandals break into your garage and damage your vehicle.
Specified perils:

This coverage pays only for losses caused by perils specifically listed in the policy (primarily fire and theft).
  • Your vehicle is stolen and never recovered, or recovered with substantial damage.
  • Fire engulfs the house next door, spreads to your driveway and destroys your vehicle.

As with all insurance contracts, loss or damage coverage is subject to limits, deductibles and exclusions. Please see your insurance policy for the extent of your coverage.
