How to Make a Travel Insurance Claim

Whether you need medical attention while away on a trip, need to return home from a trip, or need to cancel a trip, here are the steps you can take to proceed with your claim.

  1. Call us to start the claim process.
    •   Emergency Assistance is available 24/7 by calling 1-800-359-6704 toll-free from Canada or the U.S., or from other countries by calling collect 416-977-5040.
      •   It’s important to contact the Emergency Assistance Centre within 48 hours of hospital admission, or as soon as is reasonably possible. A delay could limit the maximum benefit payable under the policy to 80% of eligible medical emergency expenses, to a maximum of $30,000.
      •   Medical benefits and some trip expenses are only covered if approved in advance
    •   Once you call, you will be sent a claim form within 2-5 business days.
  2. Complete and submit the claim form with all required documentation outlined in the form.
  3. Return the completed claim form to:

  4. Assessment of your claim
    •   You may be contacted for additional information that may be necessary as our team assesses your claim.
  5. Decision of your claim
    •   Your claim will be processed within 10 business days of receiving all required documentation. You will be notified of our decision by mail shortly thereafter.
